    2021 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue

    Iconic Dies by Stampin' Up!

    1 · Apr 14, 2022 · Leave a Comment

Create this woodland cards using the Iconic Dies from Stampin' Up! Both cards are inspired by Sam Hammond, a talented Stampin' Up! demonstrator in the UK. I added some of my own details - which is the idea behind CASEing cards. CASE stands for Copy and Share Everything. There is no need to create cards from scratch every time you sit down to stamp. CASEing cards means that I can start with a great idea from someone else, knowing that by the time I am done creating the card, it will have my own personal touches.

Card sketches are another similar idea to CASEing. They show measurements and the card design layout, allowing you to copy the design easily and quickly. Card sketches are often easier to use as the instructions and measurements included make creating much less frustrating. See Amy and Wendy's Card Recipes for my card sketches that make stamping easier.

    Create it yourself!

Create the first bird card by die cutting the bird image on Basic White cardstock. I then added some Crumb Cake ink and also some Cherry Cobbler ink with blending brushes for additional texture and detail. This is easier than it looks, but I tend to be a bit sloppy and always end up with inky fingers!

Die cut the two branches out of Crumb Cake cardstock and then add the same colour ink for some texture. Alternatively, you could use a stronger colour such as Soft Suede. Create the fern die cuts with Soft Succulent cardstock and brush on Evening Evergreen ink for detail. These are my two favourite green tones right now.

Use the Stitched with Whimsy dies to add texture to the Basic White background. I used the fine tip glue pen to adhere the die cuts to the cut along with a few Stampin' dimensionals to pop up some elements.

Create the woodland mushroom card, with the same fantastic die cuts in the Iconic Die set by Stampin' Up! Die cut both the small and large mushrooms out of Basic White cardstock. Next, add some Cherry Cobbler ink to the mushroom tops with blending brushes and some Crumb cake ink to the mushroom stems. Create the fern and branch using the same colour combinations as the bird greeting card.

Emboss the background scalloped triangle using the bark embossing folder. I added a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock in the background to give a bold pop of colour that highlights the die cuts.

Simple Bloom Where You're Planted card

    0 · Jan 1, 2022 · Leave a Comment

The Bloom Where You're Planted 12 x 12 designer series paper by Stampin' Up! is fun to use with it's depictions of beautiful plants. This simple card shows off the patterned paper rather than focusing on a stamped image. I have several other cards created using the gorgeous Bloom Where You're Planted paper that you can find HERE and HERE. Scroll down for complete measurements and directions.

Greeting card created with the Bloom Where You're Planted paper
Bloom Where You're Planted 12 x12 designer series paper

    Make it yourself:

I used the Cinnamon Cider cardstock to layer the Bloom Where You're Planted 12 x12 designer series paper and the Evening Evergreen for the card background. The Stitched Greenery die creates amazing backgrounds with beautiful, stitched leaves scattered throughout. It is easy to miss in Stampin' Up!'s 2021 annual catalogue but it is so versatile and creates gorgeous backgounds. I love it!

The Tailor Made Tags are die cut using another piece of the Bloom Where You're Planted 12 x12 designer series paper and the brick pattern coordinates with the Cinnamon Cider layer.

To recreate this design using any patterned paper you own, pick out 2 of the predominant colours from the paper first. Stampin' Up! designer series paper has coordinating cardstock colours for every colour you see. This makes creating cards so easy! The top design tip for great cards is to always have your main colour or two repeat.

I love how cute and simple this card is. The little tag adds a sweet message that is suitable for a thank you, Happy Birthday or a "Just Because" card. The simple square pattern on the bottom right of the card was created with Stampin' Up's! Hand Penned Designer Series Paper.

Expressions in Ink paper is Gorgeous!

    2 · May 14, 2021 · Leave a Comment

Stampin' Up's Expressions in Ink Designer Series Paper is absolutely gorgeous! There is no need to add a lot of fancy embellishments to create a beautiful card. The gold veining in the paper combined with the alcohol painted background is stunning! Create this simple card by adding gold embellishments beneath the sentiment to coordinate with the gold detail in the paper.

The Expressions In Ink Ephemera Pack contains 50 precut gold pieces along with 100 adhesive backed sequins. Add these embellishments behind your favourite stamped sentiment and your card is finished.

The Expressions In Ink paper pack coordinates with Evening Evergreen, Just Jade, Magenta Madness, Mint Macaron, Pale Papaya, Pear Pizzazz, Polished Pink and Shaded Spruce colours. Choose your favourite to match with the paper as a background and layer onto a piece of Basic White cardstock.

When cutting the 5"x 3 ¾" Expressions in Ink designer series paper layer, you often have a strip left over. Add this strip to the inside of the cards for an extra special touch.
