2023 2024 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue

    Artsy Ice Cream Card

    1 · Aug 10, 2023 · Leave a Comment

Ice cream cards are the best for summer birthdays or any occasion really! I love the bold look of the Super Cool stamp set by Stampin' Up! in the 2023-2024 Annual catalogue. You can take advantage of the retro feel by creating a background with repeated ice cream cone images. The Bubble Bath cardstock, patterned paper and the ink all match for a coordinated look. I tried different colour combinations but settled on the bold Basic Black to really take advantage of the 1970's vibe of the Super Cool stamp set that Stampin' Up! designed.

Ice cream card featuring the Super Cool stamp set Stampin' Up!

The Super Cool stamp set by Stampin' Up! is photopolymer which means that it is a clear stamp. The clear stamps are see through and make lining up the images to create the background so much easier. You can line up the bottom edge of the stamping block with a line on your grid paper to help keep the images even.

The stamp set comes with other fun images - I'm on holidays tomorrow so will be back later to show cards with the pretzel, vintage pop bottle and more! See a couple more cards and the stamp set below. Keep scrolling for a full tutorial!

What is your favourite flavour of ice cream? Drop me a comment and let me know! I love strawberry ice cream so was drawn to the Bubble Bath cardstock and ink.

    Instructions

Cut paper to the following sizes:

    • Bubble Bath (cardbase): 5 ½” x 8 ½” scored at 4 ¼”
    • Basic Black (1st layer): 4” x 5 ¼”
    • Basic White (stamped layer): 3 ⅞” x 5 ⅛”
    • Basic White (ice cream layer): approx. 2” x 3”
    • Bubble Bath (sentiment -scrap): approx. 2” x 3”
    • Delightfully Eclectic (detail behind sentiment): ¾” x 4”

    Stamping and Assembly

    • Score the Bubble Bath Cardstock at 4 ¼” and fold on the score mark to create your card base.
    • Adhere the Basic Black layer to the card front.
    • Stamp the ice cream cone evenly across the bottom half of the Basic White stamped layer using Bubble Bath ink. You can use your grid paper to help you. Line up the bottom of your stamping block with a line on the grid paper. Continue to line up the bottom as you stamp across the Basic White layer.
    • Turn the stamped layer around and stamp another row of ice cream cones. I offset this row so that the cherries alternated in the middle of the background layer.
    • Adhere to the Basic Black layer.
    • Stamp an ice cream cone onto the small Basic White piece in black. Cut out using your paper snips. Line up with the appropriate cone on the card front – snip off the bottom so that it aligns. Adhere with Stampin’ Dimensionals
    • To stamp the sentiment, I added both stamps to 1 stamping block. I slightly curved the “Sweet” stamp while placing on the block.
    • Stamp the sentiment onto the Bubble Bath scrap. Cut out using the die as shown and the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine.
    • Notch the end of the Delightfully Eclectic strip and then adhere to the top left hand side of the card front as shown.
    • Run a small strip of adhesive where you would like the ribbon to be. Loop it back and forth as shown. Trim the edges on an angle. Place a couple of Stampin’ Dimensionals onto the sticky spots remaining.
    • Adhere the sentiment to the top of the ribbon, using 2 more Stampin’ Dimensionals if necessary.

Pretty Botanical card with Inked & Tiled

    0 · Aug 8, 2023 · Leave a Comment

Stampin' Up!s gorgeous sketched flowers and leaves in the Inked & Tiled stamp set also have wonderful sayings. I love that the Inked and Tiled stamp set includes Happy Birthday, Thank you, Just a note, Hello Friend and more. It really is a very versatile set. Ironically, today's card does not feature any of the great sentiments included - but I do plan on stamping one on the inside of the card when I'm ready to mail it.

Do you ever save adding a sentiment until just before using the card? I do. I've been known to have my family sitting in the car while I quickly stamp a greeting inside a card. I don't suggest waiting that long to decide on a card greeting, but it is nice to have blank cards ready for any occasion that may come up.

    Make it yourself

The deckled rectangles are used for the layers for the flower. You could simplify and cut rectangles, but I find once you own Stampin' Up!'s Cut and Emboss machine it is difficult not to use the all the die cuts available! The Timeworn Type 3D embossing folder add more visual interest to the background layer. Again, you could skip this step but embossing folders are addictive!

Watercolour Flower Card for a Friend

    2 · Jun 19, 2023 · Leave a Comment

We all need to reach out to our friends more often. These watercolour flowers and wonderful sentiments in Stampin' Up!'s Inked and Tiled bundle are perfect to create cards for all your friends and family. The Inked and Tiled stamp set can by found in the 2023 - 2024 Stampin' Up! annual catalogue. It features leaves and wildflower style flowers that stamp as if you painted them yourself. I love the nature inspired stamp sets a lot and this bundle did not disappoint.

Keep reading for a full card tutorial, including measurements that is printable.

greeting card featuring leaves and flowers
Inked and Tiled stamp set from Stampin' Up!

As much as I love the botanicals, leaves and flowers in the Inked and Tiled stamp set, I was hesitant to order the bundle from Stampin' Up! It features two punches, that although unique and great shapes, I wasn't sure how they coordinated with the stamp set. I ordered it anyway and am so glad I did!

The geometric shaped punches make fantastic shapes for not only the sentiments but for so much more. The easiest way to use them is to create layers and dimension on your card as seen here beneath the sentiment. See my cards later this week for more fun ways to use the shapes.

The coordinating paper, Inked Botanicals Designer Series Paper by Stampin' Up! is just so pretty! I didn't use much in this card design, but check back later this week for cards featuring this pretty patterned paper.

The Inked and Tiled stamp set and Inked and Tiled Punch Pack are available from my store at a bundled savings of 10%. The entire Inked and Tiled suite features pretty Lost Lagoon ¼" bordered ribbon that matches everything perfectly!

    Make it yourself!

Hello Friend is one of the many great phrases in the Inked and Tiled stamp set by Stampin' Up! You could easily swap out this saying for Happy Birthday or Thank you, all of which are included in the stamp set. Each of the great sentiments fits into one of the punches included in the Inked and Tiled Punch Pack by Stampin' Up!

I used the new (well everything old is new again right?) colour, Lost Lagoon cardstock. It is one of my favourites and pairs well with the Calypso Coral ink colour. Stampin' Up makes it easy to choose colours, this combination comes from the Inked Botanicals 6" x6" designer series paper pack. The paper really is so pretty, it places this suite in the must have category for sure.

    Timeless Arrangements Thank You Card

    1 · May 9, 2023 · Leave a Comment

I love silhouette styled flowers and the new Stampin' Up! Timeless Arrangements stamp set and die bundle is so pretty! The stamp set has wonderful sentiments but the timeless arrangement dies are really what sets this bundle above the rest. Each floral silhouette is easy to use with a unique way of layering. Keep scrolling for measurements and a full tutorial.

    greeting card featuring flowers

This card features another style of angle - completely different from my last card - but still a diagonal is prominent! It is also a very monochromatic look featuring two new colours, Pretty Peacock and Lost Lagoon.

    Make it Yourself!

Creating this card is easier than it looks due to the special feature of the timeless arrangements dies by Stampin' Up! If you look at the picture carefully, you can see how the flowers are on a little rectangle. When layered, the rectangles stack and the flowers automatically form a spray of foliage. I love easy cards like this that look fantastic and are easier to make then they look.

Bundle is available for a 10% discount

The dies are fun to play with. I cut out multiple florals in Pretty Peacock, Lost Lagoon, Pool Party and Basic White cardstock. I then tried different combinations until I found one I liked best. What is your favourite colour combination for a monochromatic look?

Beauty of the Deep Birthday Card 2

    0 · May 4, 2023 · Leave a Comment

Stamping underwater scenes with coral, little fish and even an anchor is so much fun! The Beauty of the Deep stamp set from Stampin' Up!'s new 2023-2024 annual catalogue has very detailed stamps that are easy to use. I also featured the new In Colors as the Copper Clay is perfect for the anchor. Keep scrolling for a complete tutorial.

What do you think of the angled look? I often line up my card layers evenly, but do enjoy throwing in an odd angle here and there. If you prefer straight cards, you could easily adjust the card layout. I created another underwater scene with different colours but some similarities HERE. Check out the straight layers and comment below and let me know what you prefer.

    Make it yourself:

The Beauty of the Deep bundle includes fantastic dies that coordinate perfectly with the stamp set. Stampin' Up! really does create amazing die cutting bundles! See the bundle HERE

I also love the new colours. This colour combination is great for masculine cards.

Stamp some bubbles in Blueberry Bushel ink.

Create this underwater, landscape scene quickly and easily with the Beauty of the Deep stamp set by Stampin' Up! The Beauty of the Deep stamp set will be in the 2023-2024 Stampin' Up! Annual catalogue. I love the coral, the two cute fishes and of course the die cuts.

Can you name the new Stampin' Up! colours I used? I love the new Moody Mauve and the returning Pretty Peacock and Lost Lagoon. These colours combine wonderfully to create the underwater stamped scene. The new In Color Pebbled Path was used for the Happy Birthday sentiment along with the little fish.

    Make it yourself!

Products are now available in the new 2023 - 2024 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue! I was able to buy these products early as a Stampin' Up! demonstrator. If you want to know more about the pros and cons of being a demonstrator like me, email me and we can discuss. I became a demonstrator for two main reasons.

    • I wanted to stamp with more people. Through being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator I have met so many wonderful and caring people who love stamping just as much as I do. This journey has had such a positive impact on my life and I'm very grateful!
    • I enjoy getting a discount on my purchases. Need I say more on that?

I will post complete instructions below and will update the purchase links when the new products from Stampin' Up!'s 2023 -2024 annual catalogue are available.

    Instructions

Cut cardstock to the following sizes:

    • Thick Basic White: 5 ½” x 8 ½”; scored at 4 ¼”
    • Pretty Peacock: 4¾” x 3 ½”
    • Basic White: 3 ¼” x 4 ½”; ½“ x 3”, scrap

    Stamping and Assembly

    • Fold Thick Basic White on score line to create card base.
    • Use a variety of stamps and inks to create an undersea landscape on the Basic White. Have fun and try different combinations. The large coral was stamped in Moody Mauve slightly off centre, first. Continue adding another coral in the background using Lost Lagoon ink and another in Moody Mauve ink, but stamped off on scrap paper first, to lighten it. Add some plants to the left and right edges in Pretty Peacock ink – turning the stamp so it is not perfectly straight or lined up each time. Stamp some bubbles in Lost Lagoon ink.
    • Use your blending brush to pick up some Lost Lagoon ink, tap onto scrap paper and then blend on the top and the edges to add some colour to your undersea landscape.
    • Adhere with the Multipurpose Liquid Glue on an angle to the Pretty Peacock cardstock.
    • Use Stampin Dimensionals to adhere this to the card base front as shown.
    • Stamp the sentiment from the Best Family Ever stamp set with the Pebbled Path ink onto the Basic White strip, leaving space on the left-hand side for the ribbon. Notch the right-hand side with your scissors.
    • Cut a piece of the Moody Mauve ribbon in half lengthwise to make it narrower. Tie around the left end of the sentiment and knot. Fray the edges if desired.
    • Adhere to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals as shown.
    • Stamp the two fishes in Pebbled Path ink onto a scrap of Basic White. Cut out with the coordinating dies and the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop them up on the card front.
    • Add bubbles by the fish by adhering the Pebbled Path embellishments to the card front as shown.
