Want to learn how to make simple and beautiful stamped cards?
Great! I’m here to help you create cards like the “pins” you’ve been saving. My online “cookbook” is for anyone that desires a creative outlet but doesn’t have as much time as they would like to pursue personal interests. My card “recipes” will let you spend the time you carve out of your busy schedule to cut, paste, colour and create so that you can relax and recharge.
Do you find time to be creative only to waste hours searching the web for the perfect idea? Do you find great card ideas but have no idea where to start to recreate them?
I know how you feel. I launched cardsbyacook.com to simplify stamping and card making so you can spend more time having fun, relaxing and creating with less frustration. I will be posting card recipes to teach you solid designs to follow and make your own. Like any good cook, you can follow the recipe designs exactly or change it up a bit to suit your own preferences.
Like any good cookbook – my recipes include ingredients (supplies) and step-by-step instructions and of course, lots of photographs. I’ve also included tips and tricks and a section for the basics – how to cut, score, layer, emboss, watercolour and more. Want to know the best part? The site features a well organized recipe list so you can find what you are looking for easily.
Why recipes for a papercrafting and stamping website?
Although I do enjoy baking – brownies are my favourite – I wanted to take my 20 years of papercrafting experience and 7 years of actively teaching stamping and being a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator and share my expertise with more people. My name – Amy Cook – combined with the ease of use of a cookbook got me thinking that recipes were the perfect way to teach and showcase stamping. In fact, a lot of what I do is related to cooking. I fell in love and married a “Cook” I’m a busy mom to two teenage daughters whom I taught to bake and cook and I teach highschool chemistry full time – sometimes those experiments seem very much like cooking. Cards by A Cook was a natural fit for me.
My hope is my designs will help you find stamping a fun, relaxing and enjoyable pursuit.
